Cycling in St. Anton

St. Anton provides everything your mountain biking heart desires. Cycling enthusiasts get to let off steam on a total of 200 km signposted cycle paths and trails. There is something for every cyclist on the Arlberg. From leisurely rides through the lush blossoming meadows to the valleys, all the way through to challenging trails which take you into the high mountains. And all that is set in a superb mountain backdrop. There is also something for fans of road cycling. From St. Anton you can for instance head out on a day tour to Bodensee and climb the Arlbergpass just like the pros.

Our suggestions for cycling:

Stanzertal cycle path:
From ARLBERG-well.com head along Rosanna to the activity centre in Pettneu and continue from there to Schnann. It’s worth taking a short stop and heading to see Schnann gorge, which is somewhat above the town centre. From Schnann you continue to St. Jakob. Having arrived there you can go on a sightseeing tour of the parish church. Return to St. Anton afterwards.
Route length: 15.6 km - Metres altitude: 14.2

Darmstädter Hütte:
Starting once again at ARLBERG-well.com head west via the village park to the bridge at the Rendlseilbahn. Cross the Rosanna afterwards, follow the gravel path there then start the climb across the Lehngang. Continue then to the ‘Tritschalpe’ fork in the road. Climbing again from here head for the Roßfallalm and pass the Kartellboden until you reach Darmstädter Hütte. Having had some refreshments there, head back on the same route again.
Route length: 26.2 km - Metres altitude: 1084

Verwallsee - Sattelwaldweg - Moostal:
VFrom the starting point ARLBERG-well.com head west through the village park. Then high up on the old Arlbergstraße follow the route indicators into Verwalltal. Follow the asphalt path and go past Stiegeneckkapelle, and at the next junction head for Maroital. Cross Arlenbach, at the next fork in the road take a left to Verwallsee. From there cross the bridge to Sattelwaldweg. Go around the Sattelkopf. After a short section where you have to carry the bike across Moostalbach, there is then a steep climb to ‘Bildstöckli’ and take a left on the Moostalweg, heading into the valley again.
Route length: 17.9 km - Metres altitude: 600
